Dear members,

HKEF Senior Inter-school Eventing Challenge winner Daniella came first in BE100!

The HKEF is pleased to share with you that Daniella Lin, winner of the HKEF Inter-school Eventing Challenge 2020, carried forward her success to the Kelsall Hill BE100 event last weekend.

As you know, the HKEF Senior Inter-School Eventing Challenge is an eventing-based competition for accomplished young riders aged 14-18 years. Daniella of Renaissance College (RCHK) riding Hope won this year’s competition with a score of 26.6.  She received HKEF funding worth HK$10,000 towards a training programme approved by the HKEF Training and Selection Subcommittee.

Daniella put her prize money towards eventing training in the UK and participating in British Eventing competitions over the weekend. We were thrilled to see Daniella, with A Sparkling Bellini, won the Kelsall Hill BE100 Open with a score of 27.0 against some experienced riders, for example, Jeanette Brakewell, a member of both the British silver medal team at the Athens Olympics in 2004 and the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000.

As an enthusiastic eventer, Daniella actively participated in local and overseas eventing competitions. In the 2020 Inter-school series, she competed in five one-day events, making steady and effective progress in 90cm classes. She was placed in her last three rides, twice with a winning score. After her recent move to the UK, Daniella joined the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan (HKEPP) Overseas Youth Squad sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and began to take part in 100cm competitions. The recent win at Kelsall Hill BE100 Open was one of her best results so far.

The HKEF would like to congratulate Daniella and we look forward to seeing many of you again at the HKEF Senior Inter-school Eventing Challenge in the new season!

Best Regards,

Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
