Hong Kong Equestrian Federation's Inter-School Equestrian Challenge 2023:

Canadian International School of Hong Kong and Chinese International School Top The List

The Final of the HKEF Inter-school Equestrian Challenge 2023 took place at Lo Wu Saddle Club last Friday and Saturday, 21st and 22nd April. Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) and Chinese International School (CIS) emerged victorious in the Lower and Higher Divisions respectively.

 

With an overall score of 184.2, Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) won the Lower Division (for riders aged 10-14 years) followed by Hong Kong International School (HKIS) Team B with 179.5 and Team C with 169.5, and West Island School (WIS) with 136.4.

 

In the Higher Division (for riders aged 12 – 16 years), after a hard-fought competition, Chinese International School (CIS) eventually took the lead with an impressive score of 201.77. The Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) came in second with 178.44 points. CIS team members Ashley Gale, Katherine Law, and Oliver Stapleton have won a trip to the UK for a week of riding and training at Ingestre Stables in Staffordshire.

At the award presentation, recognition was given to the top five riders in Dressage and Showjumping divisions in the earlier heats for both divisions in addition to those who excelled at the Finals.

 

The President of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation Mr. Michael Lee; Vice President of the HKEF, Ms. I-Ping Soong; Jumping Judges, Mr. Johnny Mak and Ms. Alice Mak; Steward, Ms. Jennifer Ho; Club Manager of Lo Wu Saddle Club, Mr. Christian Allderidge; Horse and Hound HK, Ms. Bobo Poon; HKEF Executive Director, Ms. Masami Toda attended the prize presentation of the final competition and presented prizes to our winning team and riders.

 

This year, we were held total of two Lower Division heats and two Higher Division heats at Lo Wu Saddle Club (LWSC) and Tuen Mun Public Riding School (TMPRS) respectively over Wednesdays and Fridays in February.

 

The Hong Kong Equestrian Federation would like to express our warmest congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to LWSC and TMPRS for their invaluable assistance in running the competition.

 

Our sincere gratitude goes out to all officials, riders, and parents who contributed to the success of the event. We would like to extend a special thanks to our generous sponsors, without whom this event would not be possible. These include Horse and Hound Hong Kong, Watsons Water, Lo Wu Saddle Club, Pin Genie Limited, Clearwater Bay Equestrian & Education Centre, Pulsevet Veterinary Centre, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Tallahesse Asia Holdings Limited, Exhibition Group Limited and Hong Kong Dog Rescue. A subvention was also provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to support the event.
