Dear members,

 

To nurture young equestrian talents and provide international competition experience, HKEF, with support from HKJC, will organize a training and competition programme from Monday 29 August to Monday 12 September 2022 in Germany.

 

Details of Training and Competition Programme

Date: 29 August to 12 September 2022 (Mon - Mon)
Main Training Venue:

Gugler Sport Horses GmbH & Co. KG

Schloßstraße 6a, 83339 Chieming, GERMANY

Quota:

2 athletes will be selected and entitled to funding support;

Other athletes may be accommodated on a self-funding basis (rough costs @$90,000 excluding post arrival quarantine back in Hong Kong), subject to availability of horses

We are looking for expressions of interest from HKEF junior riders who would like to take part in this programme:

 

  • Aged 14 to 18 (Year of Birth: 2004-2008)
  • Member of HKEF
  • HKSAR passport holder
  • Note that the competition will be at a minimum of 1.20m. Ideally riders will have competition results at this level, but we will consider submissions from riders who show potential and whose application is endorsed by an HKEF approved coach, recognising that competition opportunities have been very limited over the past two seasons
  • Available for the full period of the training programme

 

The following criteria will be taken into account in making selection decisions on the 2 fully sponsored athletes:

 

  • Current training level and past results of the athlete at the required level or above;
  • The willingness of the athlete to attend training and compete at shows / events identified by the performance manager as important for preparation for the programme; and
  • Availability for the required period of the training programme

 

HKEF will notify riders selected for funding support by Monday 4 July and also inform those who could be accommodated on a self-funded basis.

 

The following costs FOR 2 SELECTED ATHLETES will be covered by the programme:

  1. Round trip air ticket (Economy class)
  2. Travel Insurance
  3. Accommodation
  4. Meals
  5. Training sessions as preparation for the competitions organised by  Team Hong Kong Performance Manager Corinne Bracken
  6. Entry fees
  7. Horse hire fee for training and competition
  8. Local transportation between your home airport and your residence
  9. Overseas internal transportation between the airport, accommodation and training venue

*Accompanying persons will have to bear their own cost on the above items including accommodation

**Self-funded athletes can also put themselves forward for selection

***All athletes and accompanying persons will have to bear their own cost of any government mandated quarantine associated with travel

  2. Parent Consent Letter
  3. Official Result Sheets
  4. Letter of support  and recommendation from rider’s current coach

 

Any late submission or submission with missing document(s) received by HKEF Secretariat will not be processed.
