(1 September, 2014, Hong Kong) The 17th Asian Games are fast approaching and will kick off on 19th September, 2014 in Incheon, Korea. After announcing the guidelines for potential competitors for the three disciplines, dressage, eventing and jumping on 22nd January, 2014, all potential Hong Kong riders have been working tirelessly to meet the qualification criteria in order to represent Hong Kong at these prestigious Games. Following the qualification deadline on 31st July, 2014 and subsequent confirmation from the HKEF’s Training and Selection Subcommittee, the HKEF is delighted and proud to announce that Hong Kong will be sending an Eventing Team and a Jumping Team and two Dressage individuals to the 17th Asian Games. Successful combinations will compete in the equestrian events held from 20th to 30th September, 2014.

Accompanying the athletes to Korea will also be Chef d’ Equipe, Angela Kong, Deputy Chef d’ Equipe, Suzanne Baker, Team veterinarian, Frank Low, Team Farrier, Ka Ming Law, Team Equine physiotherapist, Thomas Gnadl, along with eleven grooms. The Hong Kong equestrian team is also extremely fortunate to have three well established trainers to coach the athletes in each discipline, namely Dressage Team coach, David Hunt, Eventing Team coach, Lucinda Fredericks and Jumping team coach, Lars Meyer Zu Bexten.
