Hong Kong Equestrian Team getting ready for the 13th National Games 2017

(13 August 2017, Hong Kong) The presentation of the Hong Kong Equestrian Team for the 13th National Games 2017 Press Conference was held at Happy Valley Racecourse today.
Mr. Michael Lee, President of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation together with Mr. Anthony Chow, Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. Richard Wong, Deputy Director, (Leisure Services) Acting and Mr. Timothy Fok GBS, JP, Chairman of Organizing Committee of the HKSAR Delegation to the 13th National Games and President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, presented the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) flag to the Hong Kong Equestrian Delegation to the 13th National Games of the People’s Republic of China. Deputy Chef d’Equipe, Ms. Angela Kong and 8 members of the Hong Kong Equestrian Delegation namely Ms. Annie Ho, Ms. Nicole Pearson, Mr. Thomas Ho, Mr. Patrick Lam, Mr. Kenneth Cheng, Ms. Raena Leung, Ms. Clarissa Lyra and Ms. Jacqueline Siu received the HKSAR flag at the press conference.
Hong Kong Equestrian Federation is proud to announce that Hong Kong will send athletes for all equestrian disciplines in first time to these prestigious games, including 4 eventing riders, 4 jumping riders and 1 dressage rider.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Lee said that the Hong Kong Jockey Club has been enormously generous in providing 10 competition horses to the Hong Kong Equestrian Team at the 13th National Games. Their sponsorship also covers the majority of the preparation and competition expenses incurred by our team, such as horse quarantine and transportation, training and competition expenses for the riders, expenses for the support team, accommodation and other ancillary expenses. “On behalf of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation, our team members and the equestrian community as a whole, I wish to express our deepest appreciation to the Hong Kong Jockey Club for their huge contribution to the Hong Kong Equestrian Team as well as equestrian sports in recent years.”
The 13th National Games equestrian events will be held at the Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club Park in Tianjin from 29th August to 7th September, 2017. Hong Kong Equestrian Team will compete against 14 rival teams all over the country for the highest honours in 3 discipline competitions.
The Hong Kong Equestrian Delegation comprising 8 riders and 14 officials, including Chef d’Equipe, Deputy Chef d’Equipe, Coaches, Team Vet, Team Farrier, Team Physiologists (Human and Horses), Sports Psychologist and Grooms. Other officiating guests attending the press conference included Mr. Tony Yue, BBS, MH, JP, Vice Chairman of Organizing Committee of the HKSAR Delegation to the 13th National Games, Ms. Amy Chan Lim-chee, Co-opted Member of the Executive Committee of the HKSAR Delegation to the 13th National Games, Ms. Scarlette Leung, Executive Director, Corporate Planning, Communications and Membership of the Hong Kong Jockey Club and Mr. Andrew Harding, Executive Director, Racing Authority of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
