Owen Wong placed 2nd at CSIJ-B Bangkok @ Princess Cup 2019!
The CSIJ-B Bangkok @ Princess Cup 2019 was held from 18 – 20 Nov 2019 (Mon – Wed) at The Royal Stable Unit and the Royal Horse Guard, Bangkok, Thailand. Our Hong Kong Team, comprising Natasha Lee, Owen Wong and Aden Yeung, competed against 28 other riders from 9 countries.
Upon completion of the Team Competition (105cm) on Tuesday, all 31 riders qualified to the CSIJ-B (110cm) yesterday afternoon. The CSIJ-B ran under Table A against the clock with jump-off, placings determined by the penalties and time taken to complete the round. Aden and Charismo 11 finished with 4 faults in 83.35 seconds and ranked 13th, while Natasha and Ngaow Khun Phon was unfortunately eliminated. Owen and Lek Kla achieved a clear round in 81.72 seconds and entered to the jump-off with 9 other riders who also had a clear round.
After a keen competition at the jump-off, Owen took home the second place with a superb clear round in 56.83 seconds, only 0.5 seconds behind the winner Ornarin Boonjint from Thailand. The third place belonged to Jenna Taylor Helweg from Malaysia in 60.41 seconds.
The HKEF would like to send our massive congratulations to Owen for achieving such an excellent result at the CSIJ-B Bangkok @ Princess Cup 2019! We would also like to thank Natasha, Aden and team coach Mr. Christian Allderidge for their efforts to represent Hong Kong at the competition. We look forward to more riders competing at overseas events in the future!
