Patrick Lam became the Silver Medalist for the Eventing Individual Competition at The Asian Championships Pattaya 2019!
The Asian Championships Pattaya 2019 was held from 1- 8 December 2019 at Thai Polo and Equestrian Club. Hong Kong sent a total of 7 riders to participate in the eventing and jumping disciplines.
Following dressage as the kick-off of the Championships, the eventing team and individual competitions were held from 3 – 5 December in the order of dressage, cross country and jumping at the end. With the exceptional support from the FEI, medals were presented to both participating teams. 9 riders from Hong Kong, Iran and Thailand competed for the Team and Individual medals under the format of CCI2*-L, endeavouring to get the least number of penalty points of the accumulated after the three disciplines.
Riding on home soil, Thailand Team won the Gold Medal with a total of 140.4 points, while Hong Kong took the Silver Medal with 178.9 points.
Yuxuan Su and All Or Nothing placed 8th with accumulated 127.5 points after the three disciplines. Annie Ho riding Lost In Translation finished with a total of 87.2 points and placed 7th, while Thomas Ho with Jockey Club Charlene Old finished with accumulated 51.7 points and placed 4th. Patrick Lam and Jockey Club Weronique had the best results among the four, concluding the competition with a total of only 40 points, making him the Silver Medallist of the Eventing Individual Competition. The Individual Gold Medal was taken by Arinadtha Chavatanont and Tzar Of Her Dream from Thailand with 31.8 points, while the Bronze Medal belonged to Korntawat Samran also from Thailand with 45.6 points.
