Dear members,

Thomas Ho achieves eligibility standard for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Eventing

Nicole Pearson qualified for Asian Championships Eventing

We are pleased to share with you that our eventing riders, Thomas Ho and Nicole Pearson, have achieved fabulous results over the last weekend.

Thomas Ho and Tayberry participated at the CCI4*-L event in Strzegom, Poland and achieved the Minimum Eligibility Requirement (MER). According to Article 521, rider and horse combination achieving MERs at CCI4*-S and CCI4*-L will be eligible for the Olympic Games. Alongside another MER achieved at the CCI4*-S event in Arville, Belgium back in late June, Thomas became the first Hong Kong eventing rider to meet the eligibility requirements for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Final slots for the Games will be determined through the individual rankings, closing on 31 December 2019.

Our another eventing rider, Nicole Pearson, placed 4th with a double clear in the CCI2*-L show in Saint Quentin with Dassett Golden Touch. By achieving an MER in this show, Nicole is now eligible for the Asian Eventing Championships in Thailand with this second horse. She first achieved the eligibility requirement for Thailand with Vivhara Du Causse. Nicole joins fellow event riders Thomas Ho, Annie Ho, Yuxuan Su and Patrick Lam who also have qualifications for the Asian Championships. Final selection for the event will take place in early November.

Congratulations to Thomas and Nicole and we wish the very best of luck to all our eventing riders!

Best Regards,

Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
