Dear Members,

 

To nurture young equestrian talents and provide international competition experience, the Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China with support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, will organize a training and competition programme from Saturday, 24th August to Sunday, 8 September 2024 in Germany.

 

Details of Training and Competition Programme

Date:

Saturday, 24 August – Sunday, 8 September 2024 (16 days)

Main Training Venue:

Gugler Sport Horses GmbH & Co. KG

Schloßstraße 6a, 83339 Chieming, GERMANY

Quota:

6 athletes will be selected and entitled to funding support; 1-2 other athletes may be accommodated on a self-funding basis (rough costs at HK$90,000 and is subject to availability of horses)

We are looking for expressions of interest from EFHKC junior riders who would like to take part in this programme:

 

  • Aged 14 to 19 (Year of Birth: 2005-2010)
  • Member of EFHKC
  • HKSAR passport holder (or HKID holder if self-funding)
  • Note that the competition will be at a minimum of 1.20m.  Riders will have competition results at 110cm and above, we will consider submissions from riders who show potential and whose application is endorsed by an EFHKC approved coach 
  • Available for the full period of the training programme

 

The following criteria will be taken into account in making selection decisions on the fully sponsored athletes and any riders wishing to self-fund:

 

  • Current training level and past results of the athlete at the required level or above;
  • The willingness of the athlete to attend training and compete at shows / events identified by the performance manager as important for preparation for the programme;
  • Availability for the required period of the training programme;
  • A parent/ guardian must be able to attend the training with the athlete if under 18 for the full period of time.

The following costs FOR THE SELECTED ATHLETES will be covered by the programme:

  1. Round trip air ticket (Economy class)
  2. Travel Insurance
  3. Accommodation
  4. Meals
  5. Training sessions as preparation for the competitions at the riders’ home training base (To be confirm)
  6. Entry fees
  7. Horse hire fee for training and competition
  8. Local transportation between your home airport and your residence
  9. Overseas internal transportation between the airport, accommodation and training venue

*Accompanying persons will have to bear their own cost on the above items including accommodation

**Self-funded athletes can also put themselves forward for selection

  2. HKSAR Passport/HKID Copy
  3. A half-length photo for publicity purpose (wearing show jacket is preferred)
  4. Best three official result sheets in last 1 year at 110cm or above with videos submission(File Name: Rider Name_Horse Name_Height_Competition Date)
  5. Letter of support and recommendation from rider’s current coach
  6. Release and Indemnity & Parent Consent Form

 

Any late submission or submission with missing document(s) received by EFHKC Secretariat will not be processed.
