Completion of “HKEF Jumping and General Rules Changes 2020 – 2021 Sharing Session”
Following the announcement on the new HKEF Rules for 2020 – 2021, the HKEF is running two online sessions featuring the highlight changes in the rules of Dressage, Jumping and Eventing disciplines, as well as the General Rules.
The first session on HKEF Dressage and Eventing Rules Changes by RSC members Ms. Alice Mak and Dr. Danny Tong was held on 21 November 2020, while the second session on HKEF Jumping and General Rules Changes by HKEF Rules Subcommittee (RSC) Chairperson Dr. Anne Lo and RSC member, Mr. Gerald Kuh was held this afternoon.
The session started off with the introduction to the rules changes mechanism. ‘During the review of HKEF rules, a number of important factors, such as horse welfare, riders’ safety and the promotion of clean and fair sports must been considered. Every year, HKEF rules are updated with reference to the latest version of the FEI Rules, comments from members as well as consultations with senior officials and advisors of respective disciplines.’ said Anne.
Summaries of all the major changes of both the HKEF General and Jumping Rules were presented by Anne and Gerry respectively. A Q&A session was conducted at the end of the session.
