Invitation to the CCI1* Hong Kong 2019 (13 – 14 Dec 2019, Fri – Sat)

Dear Members,

The HKEF is pleased to confirm that we will be organising a CCI1* at Beas River Equestrian Centre (BREC) on 13 – 14 December 2019 (Fri – Sat) with the support from Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and HKJC. We are very excited to have an international level eventing back on the calendar and work is already underway on the construction of the new cross country course. Our last CCI1* was in 2011 at Penfold Park.

Full details of the rules and specifications for a CCI1* can be found on the FEI website. The maximum height of the cross country feces is 1.05m and the maximum height for the show jumping phase is 1.10m.

Since the FEI delegates any eligibility requirements for entry to a CCI1* to the national federations, the HKEF is now  requesting horse-rider combinations to demonstrate their competency by achieving the following ‘Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MER)’ in the 1m or above classes at any one of the four upcoming warm up events scheduled on 21 September (Sat), 12 October (Sat), 2 November (Sat) and 30 November (Sat) at BREC:

  • Dressage: 50 penalties or less
  • Show Jumping: 20 penalties or
  • less Cross country: No jumping penalties

Tentative schedule of the event will be a trot up followed by the dressage tests on 13 December (Fri), the show jumping phase in the morning and then the cross country on 14 December (Sat). The prize giving will be held at the HKEF Christmas Party in the evening at the Lawn, BRCC. Timetable will be subject to changes and please stay tuned for further announcement.

Should you be interested to compete, please kindly send an email to [email protected] with potential combinations by 20 September (Fri).

Please also note that a national competition at c. 80cm level is on our tentative schedule alongside the CCI1*.

Stay tuned for further updates and we look forward to seeing you at the competitions!

Best Regards,
Hong Kong Equestrian Federation
