The first Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China was scheduled to hold its opening ceremony on 5 November 5 and to adjourn on 15 November, 2023. The event will be jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education, China's General Administration of Sports, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, while being undertaken by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The games will include 57 competitions, with 10 limited to students in middle schools and universities, and the other 42 competitions open to the public. Equestrian, as one of the competitions, was highly expected.  Hong Kong SAR plans to send around 720 athletes to the games, with 7 sports represented in the school division and 27 sports in the public division.

 

Equestrian Team Hong Kong, China is thrilled to announce that a total of 15 skilled young athletes, ranging from 13 to 22 years old, were selected as our representative riders in team competitions, including Dressage, Jumping, and Eventing, to thrive in this history-making nation-wide event. Students will be led by a team official with Chef d'equipe & Jumping Coach Raena LEUNG, Eventing Coach Christian ALLDERIDGE, Dressage Coach Cara HAYWARD, and Equine Veterinarian Krish SOMESHWAR.
