Format: Video submission format

(Riders will be able to arrange for their dressage test and jumping round to be filmed at their usual riding school. Videos sent to HKEF will be judged consistently to produce a league table.)

Competing schools enter teams of three or four riders (N.B. in a team of three riders, each rider may only compete once). See also Individual riders below. All riders compete in both dressage and showjumping (first round: clear round and form over fences; final: optimum time and faults).

Rules & guidelines (key points):

Each riding school will nominate a set of schoolhorses that may be ridden for the competition (privately-owned imports may not be used). A random draw of horses will be overseen by HKEF.
Each rider will be permitted a singlevideo recording session for each discipline, to be arranged with each riding school. Recording sessions will be overseen by an HKEF representative.
Dressage and jumping rounds will be judged by Suzanne Baker and Possum Richards.

Entries and Eligibility

Participants in the HKEF Inter-school Equestrian Challenge must be members of the HKEF.

Each entrant must have previously competed in each discipline at a level equivalent to that of the relevant Division of entry (e.g. the same Division of the HKEF Inter-school Equestrian Challenge in a previous year; the preliminary class of a ‘Mini’ Inter-school competition at LWSC (for the Lower Division) or the ‘Warm-up’ Show at TMPRS (for the Higher Division); a gazetted show at BREC, etc.).

In order to further encourage young riders to continue to compete throughout the year, the HKEF will provide free junior membership for the current season to all participants in the HKEF Inter-school Equestrian Challenge who have not already been admitted as members.

To apply for free membership, entrants should complete the membership form and return it to the HKEF together with a HK Identity Card/passport copy and address proof.

Competing schools should supply (i) a completed entry form for each rider, countersigned by a parent/guardian and the rider’s regular riding instructor; (ii) a HKJC (Higher Division) or LWSC (Lower Division) indemnity form for each rider (if not already submitted to the stable), signed by a parent/guardian; and, (iii) the relevant entry fee for the Division entered (see below). Payments may be made by Bank-in, FPS (Faster Payment System) or by cheque. Cheques should be made payable to Hong Kong Equestrian Federation and carry the name of the competitor clearly written on the reverse.

Entry fee for the Higher Division: $650 per rider

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Entry forms and cheques should be returned by post to the HKEF, at the address below, on or before Monday, 16 May 2022.

Given the inevitably smaller number of competitors this year, no team competition is possible. Prizes will therefore be awarded to top-scoring individuals as follows:

For the Highest-scoring Individuals Overall
1st Prize	HK$8,000 cash prize* + Rosette + Trophy + Certificate
2nd Prize	HK$5,000 cash prize* + Rosette + Certificate
3rd Prize	HK3,000 cash prize* + Rosette + Certificate

* to be used towards any chosen equestrian training programme (which should be approved in advance by the Training and Selection Sub-committee (TSSC) of the HKEF)
